Hong Kong Police Find $1.3M Worth of Drugs at Pokémon Trading Card Game Store
In a startling discovery, Hong Kong police uncovered 10 million HKD (approximately $1.3 million USD) worth of methamphetamine during a raid on a Pokémon Trading Card Game store in Kowloon. The meth was hidden in a staff-only section of the store.
Inspector Liong Chun-Hin of the Hong Kong Narcotics Bureau condemned the operation, stating, "Storing such a large quantity of narcotics in a place where teenagers and children can visit is irresponsible and disgraceful behavior that also heightens the possible risk of teenagers and children mistakenly encountering illegal drugs."
The store, initially appearing as a typical outlet for Pokémon enthusiasts, was a front for a major drug trafficking operation. Authorities are continuing their investigation to trace any connections to broader criminal networks.
